Of the total, 450,000 trips were made by foreign nationals, accounting for 52.3% of the total. Notably, foreign nationals made 200,000 visits to Hunan under mutual visa exemption, unilateral visa exemption, as well as 24-hour and 240-hour visa-free transit policies, accounting for 89% of all foreign entries. The visa-free policy has become a significant driver for attracting international tourists to Hunan.
Mainland residents made over 380,000 entry-exit trips, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%, with demand for outbound tourism and business exchanges steadily growing. Residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan made over 30,000 trips, a fivefold year-on-year surge, indicating increasingly close economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Hunan and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
Changsha aviation port currently operates 15 passenger routes to 13 countries (regions) across Asia, Africa, and Europe, connecting to destinations such as London, UK; Nairobi, Kenya; and Seoul, South Korea. The Changsha Station of Immigration Inspection handled over 3,700 inbound and outbound flights and over 600,000 entries and exits, marking year-on-year increases of 2.6% and 12.9%, respectively. Among them, mainland residents accounted for 61.4% and foreign nationals for 35.3%.
Zhangjiajie Port, a key gateway for foreign tourists entering Hunan, currently operates 13 passenger routes to eight countries (regions), with connections to five cities in South Korea alone, including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Cheongju, and Jeju Island. In the first half of the year, the Zhangjiajie Station of Immigration Inspection handled over 1,700 entry-exit flights, a year-on-year growth of 4.2%. It also witnessed over 260,000 entries and exits, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, of which foreign nationals accounted for as much as 91.5%.
A spokesperson from the Hunan General Station of Immigration Inspection said that, as an important window for immigration management services, the National Immigration Administration's 12367 immigration service platform handled a total of over 9,700 inquiries and service requests in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 43.3%. Consultation calls involved over 30 countries and regions, efficiently helping Chinese and foreign personnel resolve issues regarding entry-exit policies and customs clearance procedures.
