Recently, Forbes released the 2026 Global 2000 list. Four enterprises from Hunan made the list: Bank of Changsha (1,113th), Valin Steel (1,581st), Founder Securities (1,728th), and Lens Technology (1,880th).

Bank of Changsha is the first listed bank in Hunan. By the end of 2025, the bank had established branches in all counties of Hunan, demonstrating a clear advantage in its deep local market presence. Valin Steel is a backbone enterprise in China's iron and steel industry. In recent years, it has focused on high-end products, sharply increasing the share of specialty steel, with sales of high-end varieties—such as steel for the automotive, energy, and oil and gas sectors—continuing to grow. Founder Securities is a leading local securities firm in Hunan, holding a full range of business licenses covering securities brokerage, investment banking, proprietary trading, asset management, futures brokerage, and other areas. Lens Technology is a global leader in the field of cover glass for consumer electronics, deeply embedded in the supply chains of internationally renowned brands such as Apple and Samsung, with industry-leading technological innovation capabilities.

Additionally, Sany Heavy Industry, a construction machinery giant whose registered headquarters is in Beijing but whose operational headquarters is located in Changsha, also made the list, ranking 839th and topping among China's construction machinery manufacturers.

The Forbes Global 2000 list has a history of 24 years. Unlike the Fortune Global 500 ranking, which primarily ranks companies by revenue, the list uses a weighted ranking that comprehensively considers four indicators: sales, profits, assets, and market value, reflecting a company's overall scale and operational strength. In 2026, the total sales of listed companies reached 56 trillion USD, total profits 5.5 trillion USD, and total assets 272 trillion USD, with all four indicators hitting record highs.
