Hunan's Yueyang Chenglingji Port saw a rapid growth in the import of vehicles this year. According to the Yueyang Customs Authority, the number of parallel imported vehicles processed at the port surged by 406.6% to 1,221 in the first five months, exceeding the total import volume of last year. The value of these imported cars stood at 430 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 353.9%.

In 2023, the total number of imported vehicles at Chenglingji Port ranked fourth among national designated ports for imported finished vehicles and ranked first among inland ports nationwide.

In order to facilitate the development of Hunan's imported automobile business, the Yueyang Customs Authority has continuously improved its regulatory efficiency and services, and optimized the customs clearance process for parallel imported vehicles. The authority has broadened logistics channels for imported vehicles and promoted ro-ro transportation. It has also rolled out reform measures such as "abolishing the storage period for parallel imported vehicles in bonded warehouses" and "implementing consolidated tax collection". So far, the customs clearance time of parallel imported cars at the port has been reduced by 40% on average, and the average customs clearance cost of each automobile has been reduced by about 400 yuan.
