The People's Government of Hunan Province and the China General Technology (Group) Holding Co Ltd. (GENERTEC) had a working meeting in Changsha on the morning of January 10, 2024.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and governor of the provincial government, and Yu Xubo, GENERTEC chairman of the board and secretary of the Party group, attended.

Established in 1998, GENERTEC is a centrally administered state-owned backbone enterprise. Over the years, the group has been focusing on three pillar businesses - advanced manufacturing and technical services, medical and healthcare, and trade and engineering services. It has established five legal entities in Hunan Province, operating in equipment manufacturing, medical services, and other fields.

Governor Mao thanked GENERTEC for its concern and support for Hunan's development, and briefed the economic and social development of the province. He said that Hunan has been focusing on the beautiful blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy and implementing the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the arrangements made at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. It has comprehensively taken the "eight actions" and accelerated the "4 × 4" modern industrial system construction. The provincial economic operation maintains an upward trend of "steady progress with improved quality", which lays a good foundation for both sides to further deepen cooperation.

He expected to combine the strengths of the central enterprises with the needs of Hunan, strengthening pragmatic collaboration and innovating partnership in such fields as CNC machine tools and equipment, industrial machine tool research and development, healthcare, and modern service. Both sides may jointly safeguard the industrial and supply chains and construct a modernized industrial system. Hunan will continue to foster a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, better serving and guaranteeing the group's expansion in the province.

Chairman Yu briefly introduced the strategic layout and industrial development of the group. He remarked that Hunan has a strong industrial foundation, promising growth momentum, and favorable business environment. GENERTEC is full of confidence in investing, expanding, and thriving in Hunan. It will focus on serving the strategies of "boosting China's strength in manufacturing" and the "Healthy China" initiative, as well as the "Belt and Road" Initiative, to better fulfill the responsibility as a central enterprise. The group will give full play to the advantages of its industries, talents and technologies, relying on Hunan's industrial foundation, scientific and educational resources, and application scenarios. It will intensify cooperation with Hunan in high-end equipment, pharmaceuticals and health, and trade and engineering services to achieve win-win results.
