The officials present included: Li Dianxun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; Anyin Choo, Guyana's ambassador to China; Masaneh Nyuku Kinteh, Gambia's ambassador to China; Oliver Wonekha, Uganda's ambassador to China; Pick Fung Ho-Chong, Suriname's ambassador to China; Jaime Florcruz, ambassador of the Philippines to China; Gao Dongsheng, chief economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhou Shouwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Xu Niansha, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Zheng Chao, executive vice president of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechinery and Electronic Products; and Qu Hai, secretary general of the People's Government of Hunan Province.

Governor Mao briefed the guests on Hunan Province and its economic and social development, and thanked all parties for their long-term support to Hunan. He noted that, in recent years, Hunan has thoroughly implemented President Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province; taken construction machinery industry cultivation as an important pillar to build "Three Hubs"; and, made all-out efforts to promote high-quality development of the construction machinery sector.

Hunan's construction machinery industry continues to expand, with obvious product advantages, strong innovation power, and wide international influence. Hunan has taken the lead in the industrial scale in China for 13 consecutive years and construction machinery has become an attractive calling card of Hunan Province.

He hoped to take this exhibition as a bridge to further share development opportunities, advance industrial upgrading, and build a friendly platform. It is hoped that we could jointly promote the construction machinery industry to grow stronger, better, and bigger; help more construction machinery enterprises "go global"; and, contribute to the "Belt and Road" Initiative with Hunan construction equipment strengths. Hunan will continue to optimize the business environment, strengthen tracking and matchmaking services, and create good conditions for everyone to thrive in Hunan, he added.

The guests remarked that CICEE is one of the most influential professional exhibitions in the construction machinery industry. They looked forward to better understanding, inspecting, investing, and developing in Hunan through the expo; carrying out comprehensive cooperation with Hunan in such fields as technological innovation, industrial and supply chain complementation, and talents exchange; and, joining hands for mutual benefit and win-win results. They expected to work together for the high-end, intelligent, and green development of construction machinery industry.

Executive Vice Governor Li also met with heads of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited, Hitachi Construction Machinery, and other enterprises attending the exhibition.
