Main Responsibilities:
1. To develop academic exchanges, enliven academic ideas, promote the development of all scientific disciplines and raise academic standards.
2. To advocate scientific spirit, popularize scientific and technical knowledge, and disseminate scientific ideas and methods; to defend the dignity of science, popularize advanced technology, and develop education in science and technology for young people, so as to improve the scientific and cultural quality of the nation as a whole.
3. To voice the opinions and appeals of scientific and technological workers and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests; to provide services for science and technology groups and scientific and technological workers; to organize scientific and technological workers to provide consultation services on formulating policies and laws concerning science and technology for the Communist Party and Government; to participate in political consultations, scientific policy-making and democratic supervision of state affairs.
4. To commend and award outstanding scientific and technological workers and recommend talented people to the department concerned.
5. To provide scientific justification and consulting services and put forward policy recommendations; to tackle key problems in science and technology in order to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
6. To promote non-governmental international science and technology exchanges; to develop friendly relations with overseas scientific and technological organizations and scientists.
7. To work together with the relevant departments to develop continuing education and training for scientific and technological workers.
8. To develop public welfare services in accordance with the objectives of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology.
