Zhuzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

The Zhuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was established in May 1992 and approved by the State Council as the national one in December of the same year. The Tianyuan District of Zhuzhou City was established in August 1997. The two areas integrated their functions and performances at the end of 2000. They implemented the unified leadership system, financial system, organization setting, and personnel management. The Zhuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tianyuan District) now has 4 neighborhoods and 3 towns under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 328 square kilometers and a permanent population of 482,000. The high-tech zone implements the development pattern of "three industrial parks within one area". It has jurisdiction over the Tianxin High-Tech Industrial Park, Dongjiaduan High-Tech Industrial Park, and Hexi Demonstration Park.

In 2023, the operating revenue and total income from technology, industry, and trade of the high-tech zone grew by 6% and 9% respectively. The GDP of Tianyuan District increased by 6%. The Zhuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone ranked 48th in the top 100 industrial parks and zones for high-quality development and 81st in the top 100 advanced manufacturing industrial parks and zones.

The Tianxin High-Tech Industrial Park primarily focuses on developing rail transit industry clusters, while Dongjiaduan High-Tech Industrial Park emphasizes aerospace industry clusters. Hexi Demonstration Park is dedicated to new energy vehicles and equipment, new materials, and electronic information industry clusters. This clustering approach facilitates alternative industrial development and high levels of integration. It has successively won 30 national honors such as national industrial transformation demonstration zone and national demonstration zone for integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries.

The world's first virtual rail train was debuted here and so was the 12-meter pure electric intelligent driving bus. Its comprehensive capacity of innovation and development ranked second among all the industrial parks and zones provincewide. The zone was selected as one of the national top 100 sci-tech innovation zones, and approved as the national innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base. There are 489 high-tech enterprises and 148 provincially recognized specialized and innovative ones. Fourteen state-level incubators (makerspaces) and nine academician workstations have been established here.
