Hengyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone


The Hengyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is located in the southwest of Hengyang City. It was established with the approval of the People's Government of Hunan Province in June 1992, upgraded to a national level with the approval of the State Council in August 2012, and elevated to the deputy department-level unit in September 2021. The development zone implements unified management of the Baishazhou Industrial Park, Hengyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and Hengshan Industrial Development Zone (Hengshan Science Town), covering a total planned area of 58.15 square kilometers. The zone has focused on "two main and one special" industrial development pattern, which is led by advanced manufacturing and digital economy and characterized by life and health industry. It has vigorously developed the real economy and comprehensively built itself into a "Five-good" industrial zone.

The high-tech zone is an ecological area, boasting a green coverage rate of 45%. There are nine parks and squares in the area, including Ecological Park, Chuanshan Park, and Pinghu Park. Two national 3A-level tourist attractions, namely Former Military Complex "Lu Jia New House" and Shuangshui Bay, are situated in the area. The zone is also a livable area. It is within half an hour's drive from the high-speed railway station, airport, and railway station, surrounded by many national and provincial highways and expressways. More than 90% of the city's government offices are located in the zone. There are 20 primary and secondary schools and one university, with a total of nearly 50,000 students. Twelve bank headquarters, eleven insurance company headquarters, more than one hundred financial outlets, and two 3A hospitals are settled in the zone, offering comprehensive infrastructure facilities.
