Yiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

The Yiyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was founded in 1991 and upgraded to the national level in 2011. With Xielinggang Town, Chaoyang Neighborhood, and Yuxingshan Neighborhood under its jurisdiction, the development zone has an area of 209.51 square kilometers and a population of 188,200. Based on the new development stage, the zone has implemented the new development paradigm to build a new development pattern. It has been awarded such honors as "National New Industrialization Demonstration Base", "National Low Carbon Demonstration Zone", "Yiyang Advanced Manufacturing Technology Industrial Base of National Torch Plan", and "National E-commerce Demonstration Zone". It ranked 71st among 177 national hi-tech zones, and has been selected as one of the top 100 zones of advanced manufacturing industry in China. The zone has been rated as a provincial security zone for 14 consecutive years.

The zone is an innovative hub with strong momentum. There are 137 high-tech enterprises and 12 nationally recognized specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises operating here. It has 52 R&D platforms above the provincial level, and has set up innovation platforms such as Digital Economy Industrial Park, Academician and Expert Industrial Park, and China-Israel Science and Technology Industrial Park. It has built the Zhongnan Science and Innovation Park to high standards, featuring 3 national incubators and 4 provincial incubators.

The zone is a new energetic industrial town. It has 203 large-scale industrial enterprises, and has developed "two main and one characteristic" industries. In specific, the equipment manufacturing industry represented by SANY, Yiyang Rubber Machinery, and Weiyuan Technology; the electronic information industry represented by Sunway Communication, Sunway Electronic Science and Technology, and VSUN Technology; and, the new material and new energy industry represented by KBC Corporation, Huitong New Material, and Newcell Technology Limited.

The zone is a hot spot for culture and tourism with profound heritage. By adhering to cultural empowerment and leveraging the renowned Zhou Libo culture, it has accelerated the construction of Qingxi Village, the first village to experience significant transformations in the hilly countryside. The China Writers Association initiated a new creation program on great changes in the mountainous area and countryside, and a literary mountain climbing program in the new era. Twenty-one Qingxi reading rooms have attracted numerous famous writers. The author-signed book collection museum has become a landmark of contemporary literature in China. The program "Home Between Mountains and Waters," broadcast on CCTV-1's comprehensive channel, once featured Qingxi Village and received rave reviews. Hunan TV's "Spring Festival Celebrations at Grass-roots Level" was broadcast during Xinwen Lianbo. Qingxi Village is famous as the first literary village in China.
