In recent years, the educational authority of Nanxian County, Yiyang has thoroughly promoted intangible cultural heritage programs in schools. It has established folk flower-drum dance training centers in several kindergartens, offering a systematic art class of folk flower-drum dance. In addition, it has developed distinctive class-break exercises and set up related clubs for kids, to foster kids' self-identity and enthusiasm of the local culture.

Nanxian folk flower-drum dance, or Dihuagu, has been recognized as a representative national intangible cultural heritage program. Originated from the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820) and based on folk songs, ditties, and labor songs, Nanxian folk flower-drum dance features simple and bold movements, lively and high tunes, vibrant performances and strong connection to daily life. It has been popular among local people.
