Hunan-born artist Shu Yong (L) is awarded with a gold medal of the World Organization for Scientific Cooperation (WOSCO).
Su Yong was born in Xupu, Huaihua, Hunan Province in 1974. He is a member of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, a council member of the China Artists Association, and an art consultant of the Hunan Photographers Association. He is one of the famous contemporary artists in China. His artistic creation features performance art, sculpture, oil painting, Chinese painting, installation, new media and other fields. He won the "Outstanding Artistic Achievement Medal During 30 Years of Reform and Opening-up" and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 7th Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art, and was dubbed as one of 20 Outstanding Cultural Figures in China's Development in 2018. His artist work "Golden Bridge on Silk Road" has become a landmark at the main venue of the 2019 Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC).
