2023 "Xiaoxiang Friendship Award" Presentation Ceremony Held in Changsha

The presentation ceremony of the 2023 "Xiaoxiang Friendship Award" was held in Changsha on the afternoon of February 5, 2024. Li Min, vice chairman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with the experts winning the 2023 "Chinese Government Friendship Award" and presented the "Xiaoxiang Friendship Award" to the awardees.

The Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest honor bestowed upon foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's socialist modernization. German expert Peter Herrmann and Austrian expert Robert Geldner were recipients of the 2023 Chinese Government Friendship Award, making Hunan one of the few provinces to receive two such honors this year.

Peter Herrmann, an academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, is now a professor at the Law School of the Central South University. He has been committed to promoting China's perspective in European academic circles.

Robert Geldner is currently serving as welding director of the CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co. Ltd. He has strived for excellence and deeply demonstrated the "spirit of craftsmanship," contributing to the high-speed railway diplomacy and "hyper-speed" development of China's rail transit industry.

The "Xiaoxiang Friendship Award", is an important award to recognize and reward foreign experts who have made significant contributions to Hunan's scientific and technological innovation, economic development, and social undertakings. Ten foreign experts from six countries have been awarded the 2023 "Xiaoxiang Friendship Award".
