Construction of Yongshun Wumatou Power Plant

Introduction: According to Re-check Report on Hunan Lishui Yutang-Huayahe Planning issued by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hunan Investigation and Design Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydration, the project will build a dam with axis length of 199 meter, a barrage with maximum height of 38.4 meter, powerhouse and a 110KV power transmission line with length of 18 kilometers connected to 110KV substation of the stone levee. 

The catchment area of the proposed dam is 3758 kilometer, the annual average flow rate is 131 m³/s, the normal storage level is 204 m, the total storage of the reservoir is 35.09 million m³, the maximum design head of the power generation is 16.3 m³/s, the installed capacity is 25 MW, and the annual output is 87,040,000 kWh. 

Wumatou Power Plant consists of barrage, power station, inclined ship lift and other buildings. The design is power house with the dam, where two axial-flow Kaplan hydroelectric generating sets with unit capacity of 12.5MW will be installed.   

Policy support: scientific research report, demonstration and project proposal have been finished.  

Benefit assessment: Wumatou Power Plant, giving priority to power generation, also carries out shipping, flood control, tourism and other beneficial projects. The plant will generate 8704kWh of electricity annually, and the annual average benefit is expected to be RMB 31.02 million, the investment in one kW is RMB 10,200 and in one kWh is RMB 2.93.
