Project name: Dongjiang Lake Freshwater Fish Farming and Processing

Project content: Dongjiang Lake located south of Zixing City, Chenzhou, situated at the moist subtropical monsoon climate region, where watershed forest is rich with a coverage rate of 81%, and the concentration of negative ions in over 80% of the basin is greater than 700/㎡, so the lake is an ideal place for breeding freshwater fish. It is proposed to set up new fish farming: moderate amount of various types of freshwater fish is bred in 160 km² of water. A fish fry breeding ground is established, and the project is striving for an annual output of 20,000 tons of fresh fish. Fresh fish processing: 120 mu land is acquired in the food industrial park to establish a standard processing plant of 40,000 ㎡. Fish are processed into primary food, minced fish and canned fish.

Benefit assessment: After fish fries are put into the lake, fishing will be available within 2-3 years. If an annual output of fresh fish is 20,000 tons and the average market price is 7 Yuan per kg, the annual output value will be 140 million Yuan and the profits of 36 million Yuan will be achieved. If the annual deep processing capacity is 3,000 tons, the annual output value will be up to 52 million Yuan and the annual profits will be 20 million Yuan. It is expected to fully recover all the investments within 3-4 years.
