Chenzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone

Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone was established with the approval of the provincial government in April 2003. In February 2015, it was upgraded to the national level with the approval of the State Council. In September 2020, the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone was approved, covering a planned area of 19.84 square kilometers in the zone.

Located in the east of Chenzhou City, the Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone has a planned area of about 125 square kilometers according to the city’s development plan (2009-2030). It accounts for 43 square kilometers of the total 105 square kilometers of urban planning area. It has ushered in a historical period of “five superimposed zones” advantages, including the Chenzhou Area of the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the National Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, the Chenzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and the Cross-Strait Industrial Cooperation Demonstration Zone.

There are now more than 3,773 registered enterprises in the zone (including business enterprises). Among them, there are 73 enterprises above designated size, including 16 engaged in non-ferrous metal new materials, 21 in electronic information, 9 in equipment manufacturing, and 27 in modern service industry.

It has been successively identified as the Hunan rare and precious metal industrial base, Hunan new materials industrial base, Hunan demonstration zone undertaking industrial transfer, and one of Hunan’s “Top 10” industrial parks and zones with the most investment value. It is a promising place for industries, enterprises, and financial sources, and a new innovation hub in Chenzhou.
