The Fourth Loudi Tourism Development Conference will be held in Louxing District from October 31 to November 1, according to a press conference for the event on October 19. Aligned with the principle of "prospering a city by hosting a tourism development conference," the event will showcase Loudi's diverse cultural and tourism charm—including its industrial achievements, rural landscape, and sporting vitality—to further enhance the cultural and tourism brand of central Hunan.
The theme of the conference is "Youthful Loudi: A New Steel City; Youthful Louxing: Shining in Central Hunan." The conference adopts a "4+7+N" activity framework, namely four main activities, seven special supporting activities, and multiple city-county collaborative public cultural and tourism activities. These include the opening ceremony, observation tours of tourism projects, industrial-themed scenario-based performances, investment promotion for the cultural and tourism industry, a culinary competition, and a public fitness walking event.
Since the inaugural Tourism Development Conference was held in 2022, Loudi has adhered to using conferences to promote construction and boost industries, and competitions to attract visitors. Through the tiered arrangement of the four sessions of the tourism development conference, Loudi has established five distinct cultural and tourism sectors: Xinhua's agricultural heritage, Lianyuan's landscape and wellness tourism, Shuangfeng's cultural heritage of family and nation, Louxing's industrial urban area, and Lengshuijiang's industrial-mining ecology. This has fostered a development model characterized by "one county with one specialty and complementary development across the entire region."
In recent years, the city has established a cumulative total of 14 national-level and 126 provincial-level cultural and tourism brands. At the same time, it has vigorously cultivated new integrated business models such as "cultural tourism + sports" and "cultural tourism + agriculture," creating the "ticket-stub economy" associated with the Hunan Football League and the "adoption-based agriculture + cultural tourism" model at the Ziquejie Terraced Fields, thereby driving the conversion of visitor traffic from scenic spots and sporting events into increased consumer spending. From 2022 to 2025, Loudi's total number of tourists increased from 31.5976 million to 48.9854 million, while total spending rose from 32.067 billion CNY to 46.15 billion CNY.
