Changsha Post Unmanned Delivery Vehicles Deliver Over 5,000 Parcels Daily
October 9, 2026 marks the 57th World Post Day. The China Post Group Corporation Limited Changsha Branch held a theme promotion event in Changsha titled "Improve Postal Service Network, Explore Infinite Possibilities for the Industry." All the postal service outlets and stations across the city, and three theme post offices at Yuelu Mountain, Orange Isle, and Huaminglou jointly carried out promotional activities, reaching more than 10,000 visits in total.
Six functional areas were set up at the event site, including smart postal service, green postal service, cultural and creative market, agricultural products market, business promotion, and theme check-in. At the smart postal service area, unmanned delivery vehicles and drones were demonstrated on site, becoming a popular photo spot. The Changsha Post has now put 40 unmanned delivery vehicles into operation across the city, with a daily delivery volume exceeding 5,000 parcels.
The green postal service area showcased Changsha Post's continuous exploration in green and low-carbon development. In recent years, Changsha has advanced green and low-carbon development in the express delivery industry by deepening the transformation of express packaging, improving green transportation levels, and strengthening green financial innovation. The packaging standardization has been advanced at major postal service outlets and express delivery stations. At the same time, green and environmentally friendly packaging has been promoted by using degradable narrow tape and degradable plastic packaging bags. Theme activities such as recycling and reusing corrugated cartons have been carried out in cooperation with communities and campuses. At the event site, residents were also encouraged to use postal services in a green way through interactive quizzes.
The cultural and creative market attracted many residents. Zhang Aijun, a stamp collector nearly seventy years old, experienced audio postcard printing. Watching the stamp pattern he selected printed on the postcard and being able to record his own voice, he said with emotion, "In the past, stamp collecting was just about collecting stamps, but now I can even send out my own voice. Postal services are becoming warmer and warmer."
The agricultural products market held a centralized exhibition and sale of agricultural specialty products from across the province, and simultaneously carried out online live streaming. Relying on the network system covering cities, counties, towns, and villages, it facilitated the flow of agricultural products to urban markets. At the financial market, staff members shared knowledge on fraud prevention and asset allocation with residents. They also publicized 192 postal financial agency outlets across both urban and rural areas of Changsha to residents.
