On May 23, the inauguration ceremony of the Coordination Committee for BRICS Workshops on Comprehensive Transportation of the International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS (hereinafter referred to as the "Coordination Committee") was held in Hengyang, Hunan. Representatives from domestic and international government departments, industry enterprises, and vocational colleges gathered to witness the official launch of the Coordination Committee.

It is reported that the Coordination Committee focuses on comprehensive transportation sectors such as rail transit, aviation services, and intelligent connected vehicles. Its core tasks include promoting the integration of technical skill standards, exploring mutual recognition of "skills passports," and building a cooperation platform for teacher exchange programs and shared practical training bases.

According to this year's work plan, the Coordination Committee will primarily rely on the preliminary layout of Chinese colleges in Uzbekistan, constructing the first overseas "BRICS Workshop," conducting professional faculty training in areas such as railway construction engineering, and gradually expanding to regions with strong demand for infrastructure, such as Southeast Asia and Africa. Additionally, the committee will carry out multi-level cross-border training on "Chinese + Vocational Skills," share on-campus internationalized practice bases, and expand platforms for international employment and talent exchange.

The International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt & Road and BRICS was initiated in 2017, aiming to promote practical cooperation in vocational education and skills development among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS nations. The establishment of the Coordination Committee will build a new cooperation platform for international integration of industry and education in the comprehensive transportation sector.

As the chairman unit of the committee, Hunan Technical College of Railway High-Speed is the only public vocational college in China named after "railway high-speed." A spokesperson for the college said that it has deeply cultivated internationalization in vocational education, establishing "Tianyou" railway colleges in Thailand and Guinea, customizing 11 high-speed railway professional teaching standards that have been officially certified locally, and cultivating over 4,000 overseas railway talents, laying a foundation for the Coordination Committee to promote the integration of comprehensive transportation technical standards.

At the ceremony, a representative from the vocational education department of Samarkand Region, Uzbekistan, stated in his speech that major infrastructure projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway are accelerating, and Uzbekistan urgently needs high-quality technical and skilled talents in the comprehensive transportation sector. The Uzbek side highly recognizes China's experience in vocational education, is willing to actively participate in the Coordination Committee platform, and plans to establish "Chinese Craftsman Workshops" in vocational and technical schools in Samarkand Region, inviting Chinese experts to Uzbekistan for exchanges and guidance, jointly carrying out teacher training and curriculum development, and promoting deeper and more substantive international vocational education cooperation in the comprehensive transportation sector.
