The 2026 China (Hunan)–Uzbekistan (Bukhara) Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting was held in Changsha on May 14. Botir Zaripov, khokim of the Bukhara Region, led an economic and trade delegation to visit Hunan, gathering with over 200 government and enterprise representatives from Hunan Province. The two sides jointly drew a new blueprint for mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
At the matchmaking meeting, Hunan's enterprise representatives provided a number of solutions for such sectors as new energy storage equipment, multifunctional agricultural mini-tillers, and modern greenhouse ventilation and cooling systems. These solutions are precisely tailored for the urgent needs of the Bukhara Region in areas like power facility upgrades, water-saving agriculture, and desert planting, sparking strong interest from the Bukhara regional government and industrial park representatives. The two sides reached multiple preliminary intentions regarding technology exports and setting up a joint venture factory.
"I look forward to establishing a direct provincial-regional cooperative relationship with Hunan, and launching more joint production projects in fields such as new energy vehicles, pharmaceuticals, and smart agriculture. I would like to invite more Hunan enterprises to invest and start businesses in Bukhara," said Botir Zaripov at the meeting. He noted that the Bukhara Region, with a long history and abundant resources, is in a phase of rapid development. The region plans to attract 3.3 billion USD in foreign investment this year, focusing on developing tourism, high-tech agriculture, and green energy industries.
Currently, Hunan enterprises like Zoomlion and Hunan Construction Investment Group have been deepening its development in Uzbekistan, and Hunan universities and medical institutions have also established close cooperative relationships with Uzbek counterparts. As of 2025, the three-year compound growth rate of Hunan Province's total imports and exports with Uzbekistan reached 45.01%.
Yang Aiyun, chairwoman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hunan Sub-council, stated that Hunan and the Bukhara Region are highly complementary in construction machinery, modern agriculture, new energy, and resource endowment. The Hunan Sub-council will fully leverage its role as a bridge "connecting government and enterprises, as well as domestic and international markets" to provide comprehensive and attentive services for enterprises from both sides.
