On the evening of May 14, several Chinese entrepreneurs were present at the banquet to welcome U.S. President Donald Trump. Among them, Zhou Qunfei, chairwoman of the Lens Technology Co., Ltd., a Hunan-based leading manufacturer of smart device components, sat at the same table as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Lens Technology, headquartered in Liuyang, Hunan, has been a core supplier for Apple since 2007. It is deeply involved in supplying glass, metal, and ceramic exterior structural components for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and other key products.

During a visit to Hunan in October 2024, then-Apple Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams stated that Apple and Lens Technology have had a long-term partnership since the first-generation iPhone, and have made significant progress in smart and green manufacturing cooperation. Apple is willing to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Hunan in supply chain, talent training, and smart and green manufacturing.
