On March 19, villagers took part in a dragon dance parade at Futang Village in Longtan Town, Jiahe County, to celebrate the Longtaitou Festival, or Dragon-Head-Raising Festival. The festival, also known as Er Yue Er, literally the second day of the second Chinese lunar month, falls on March 20 this year. Local people conducted a series of celebrative activities such as dragon dance parades, plowing ceremony, and prayers, to pray for good weather for the crops and a bumper harvest.
