The photo, taken on March 16, shows the construction of the Changsha Comprehensive Hub Third-line Ship Lock on the Xiangjiang River progressing smoothly. The project is Hunan's first Class I waterway that can accommodate 3,000-tonne vessels. More than half of the construction work has been completed, while the main structure construction is advancing in full swing and is anticipated to be capped in late September. Upon completion, vessels of up to 3,000 tonnes will be able to access Wuhan and Shanghai directly via the project throughout the year, which will greatly enhance the shipping capacity of the Xiangjiang River.
