
On February 27, workers of the CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. are constructing supporting facilities of the Xiaoxiang ship lock project, a part of the Yongzhou-Hengyang Class III Waterway. The main part of the ship lock has been completed. The ship lock is expected to open to navigation in May. By then, the 723-kilometer thousand-ton waterway stretching from Chenglingji in Yueyang to Pingdao in Yongzhou will be fully connected, forming a "water expressway" that runs through Hunan Province.
