The Changsha Railway Station has recently launched pet transport services, allowing companion animals to ride the rails safely and comfortably.

A green Chinese character "宠" (meaning "pet") appearing next to the train information indicates that the train offers pet transport services.

The Changsha Railway Station is in the initial phase of its high-speed railway pet transport services, processing an average of one or two orders daily. The service is operating smoothly. The train G2446, heading for Zhangjiajie and Chengdu, runs daily, allowing pets to ride the same train with their owners and arrive at their destinations together. During the ride, the pet will be accommodated in a professional transport case which features real-time video monitoring and an air circulation system. Dedicated staff take care of the pets and provide them with water as needed throughout the whole journey, creating a safe and comfortable "first-class cabin" for the pets on the train.

Passengers may make online reservations on the 12306 App, the official railway booking platform. They must prepare relevant documentation and complete check-in procedures as required by the station. Fees are calculated based on a tiered, mileage-based pricing system, and basic insurance is included to ensure transport safety.
Hunan now has eight railway stations providing pet transport services: Changsha Railway Station, Changsha South Railway Station, Chenzhou West Railway Station, Hengyang East Railway Station, Huaihua South Railway Station, Yueyang East Railway Station, Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, and Zhuzhou West Railway Station. Passengers can check for available trains on the 12306 App.
