The 2026 World Marathon Challenge concluded its final stop in Miami, United States on the evening of February 6 Beijing time.
Wang Shengxian from Changsha, Hunan Province, completed the race in two hours, 58 minutes and 49 seconds, finishing runner-up in this stop and also in the overall competition.
The World Marathon Challenge, also known as the 777 Challenge, is an amazing logistical and physical feat to run 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 consecutive days. This year's competitors ran successively in Novo in Antarctica, Cape Town in South Africa, Perth in Australia, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Madrid in Spain, Fortaleza in Brazil, and Miami in the USA.
Wang is a manager of a sci-tech company in Hunan. Embarking on his marathon journey in 2017, he has completed seven iconic races in the world marathon major series, in Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, Tokyo, and Sydney.

In all of the seven stops in the 777 Challenge, Wang finished in the top three. Notably, he claimed the championship on the icy and snowy course at the opening race in Antarctica on January 31.

In Madrid, Spain, Wang completed the race with 600 meters of uphill track in three hours, five minutes and 47 seconds, claiming second place.

On the evening of February 5 Beijing Time, Wang completed the race in Fortaleza, Brazil in three hours, nine minutes and 59 seconds, winning second place, only six seconds behind the champion.
