Recently, the China Conference & Exhibition magazine, a publication supervised by the National Development and Reform Commission, announced the "Top 10 Internet-famous Cities in China's Convention and Exhibition Industry for 2025." Changsha made the list as a "dark horse in the convention and exhibition sector driven by both industry and consumption."

In 2025, Changsha's convention and exhibition sector focused on the blueprint outlined in "Three Highs and Four New Missions" Strategy, striving to "build a hundred-billion-yuan convention and exhibition industry and establish an internationally renowned convention and exhibition city." Changsha hosted 309 exhibitions and 25,800 conferences, successfully staging major events including the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition, 2025 Hunan International General Aviation and Low Altitude Economy Industry Expo, 26th Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo, 2025 China New Media Conference, 2025 World Computing Conference, and 2025 International Scientists Forum. The city's annual convention and exhibition revenue reached 68.873 billion CNY, marking a 4.79% year-on-year increase. The industrial added value accounted for 2.2% of the city's GDP and 3.6% of its service sector value. Changsha maintained its position among China's top 10 most competitive exhibition cities, ranked first among provincial capitals (excluding sub-provincial cities), and secured the top spot in central part of China. It has been consecutively honored as "China's most competitive city in convention and exhibition sector" for 13 years.

Changsha's convention and exhibition industry will continue to highlight "convention and exhibitions + industries," deepening supply-demand matchmaking activities such as "convention and exhibitions at industrial parks and zones" and "convention and exhibitions in universities." It will build the "one industry, one exhibition (convention)" brand to empower industrial development through specialized events. By concentrating on "convention and exhibition + culture, commerce, tourism, and sports," the city will vigorously promote the "Exploring Changsha Through Conventions and Exhibitions" brand, leverage the "ticket-stub economy," and transform visitor influx into a foundation for lasting engagement.
