A major project roadshow event for the "Competing in Planning, Showcasing Reserves, and Pooling Strength – 'Grand Planning on Major Projects' Initiative" was held in Changsha on June 18, 2026. Twenty major projects took the stage for roadshow presentations, while 22 projects were presented in written form, comprehensively demonstrating the phased achievements in planning major projects across Hunan Province.
The event was hosted by the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province. This was the first time Hunan has held such a major project roadshow. The participating projects underwent rigorous selection at various local levels and closely aligned with the province's industrial development direction, technological innovation layout, and public welfare needs.
"We are displaying the 12-inch silicon-based OLED micro-display project, focusing on the smart glasses consumer market. It boasts a total investment of one billion yuan and a designed annual production capacity of 5.5 million units," said Wang Wei, general manager of Changsha Rayvision Technology Co., Ltd. He expressed the hope of strengthening connections with financial institutions and university research organizations through the roadshow.
The event innovatively invited representatives from provincial departments, industrial experts, and heads of financial institutions to form a review panel and provide on-site commentary. The group offered "diagnosis and consultation" for the projects through policy checks, professional assessments, and resource matchmaking.
"The reality is that banks lack projects while enterprises lack funds. This roadshow has built a high-quality information platform," said Zhou Quan, a senior manager from the Review Department of the Hunan Branch of the China Development Bank. He noted that the bank plans to issue no less than 100 billion yuan in loans in Hunan this year, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as the second phase of the Yugong Port project during the event.
After the roadshow, representatives of the participating industrial parks, enterprises, and financial institutions engaged in lively exchanges, working together to promote the targeted alignment of policies, industries, financial resources, and tangible projects.
At an interview, a spokesperson of the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province noted that the introduction of the "horse-racing" mechanism aims to foster a strong atmosphere across the province for planning and advancing projects. Through "on-site commentary and Q&A sessions," a batch of strategic and leading major quality projects will be planned. Next, the roadshow event will be held on a regular basis and expanded to include provincial-level agencies, cities, and autonomous prefecture.
