Recently, the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo was held in Changsha. As a pilot zone for in-depth China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, the Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone seized this opportunity to actively promote China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. It attracted a Zambian company to establish a new foreign-invested enterprise, the Hunan Wuxianyin Trading Co., Ltd., within the zone to carry out international trade projects in construction machinery.
A delegation led by the company‘s head visited in June to purchase used
equipment for a mining project in Zambia. The Xiangtan Comprehensive
Bonded Zone set up a dedicated task force to provide end-to-end,
concierge-style services. Within just seven working days, the team
assisted in swiftly completing all preliminary procedures, including
business registration for the foreign-invested company, bank account
opening, tax registration, customs filing, and foreign exchange
registration. At the same time, the zone acted as a bridge to promote
the "Hunan Products Go Global" initiative, facilitating connections with
construction machinery manufacturers at the Xiangtan Central
International Machinery Park. The team provided full support throughout
the product selection and quotation process, helping the company
finalize its purchase intent within three days. Currently, both parties
have signed a purchase contract.
During the discussion, it was learned that Zambia's power infrastructure
is outdated and the country faces a severe electricity shortage. In
response, the Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone actively introduced a
commercial energy storage equipment R&D and manufacturing project of
one company settled in the zone. The two sides planned to establish a
partnership for the export of energy storage equipment, which would not
only attract foreign investment but also help zone enterprises tap into
the African market by leveraging these resources.
The Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone also actively organized local
enterprises such as Geely Automobile International Corporation (GAIC)
and Sunny & Sandy (Hunan) Group Ltd. to demonstrate their products
in the Xiangtan Pavilion at the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade
Expo. It further assisted a coffee project from Uganda in successfully
exhibiting at the event, helping to expand market in the central parts
of China, advance project implementation, and foster deeper and more
substantive economic and trade ties between China and Africa.
