Mojing (Mirror Polishing) Terrace

Mojing Terrace, 650 meters above sea level, is located on the hillside of Hengshan Mountain. It is here that the eminent monk Huai Rang of the Tang Dynasty enlightened Mao Daoyi, another monk by polishing a mirror near him, hence the name Mojing Terrace. Mojing Terrace is a secluded place featured old trees and beautiful scenery. Hidden in the green pines and cypresses is Dharma Delivering Temple, Scripture Teaching Platform, Zu Yuan stone carvings, Huai Rang Tomb and other attractions and historical relics. Additionally, a group of villas, built during the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949), witnessed four supreme military meetings during the Anti-Japanese War. In a word, Mojing Terrace is a holy place of Buddhism, a summer resort and a significant memorial place for the Anti-Japanese War.
