If someone asks, "Where in the city can you find the most authentic vibrancy of everyday life?"

The answer is the old streets.

The living spirit of the old streets carries with it the loves, losses, and life stories of those who once lived there, and the echoes of a world that has changed.

Perhaps, Baoweili Cultural and Creative Block is just such a vibrant old street, alive with the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Located in Miaopu Neighborhood, Baoweili Cultural and Creative Block combines the "Root-seeking Journey of Southern Railway" with "Culture Innovation of Modern Railway." Baoweili was originally part of a residential area for railway families in Hengyang, with most buildings constructed in the 1980s and 1990s. These buildings stand like nostalgic black-and-white photographs, preserving the authentic old Hengyang. Hidden deep within the city, it is only when you arrive there that you truly understand the essence of old Hengyang.

Every detail within the block ingeniously incorporates railway culture, such as vintage retro railway platforms, street lamps, clocks, and observation decks, immersing visitors in a journey through the rich history of railway heritage. The red-brick walls and utility poles are adorned with creative graffiti, creating unique visual highlights that infuse the block with youthful vitality.

The block has also introduced a variety of new commercial offerings, including cultural and creative shops, trendy toy stores, book bars, and cafes. Here, visitors can admire murals featuring railway motifs, purchase railway-themed cultural and creative products, and visit the Hengyang Railway Museum to gain a deeper understanding of the history and development of Hengyang's railways.

Stepping away from the hustle and bustle, you will find that the authentic taste of life lies in old streets. After a busy day at work, embark on a unique journey to listen to the legendary stories of Baoweili.
