Xianghuang Chicken

Xianghuang Chicken, a chicken breed from Hunan, is also known as Sanhuang Chicken. It is mainly characterized by yellow feathers, beak, and legs. It is medium-sized and well-proportioned, renowned for its tender and delicious meat, rich nutrition, and high medicinal value.

Roosters have golden-yellow and light-yellow plumage with a vivid sheen, their necks are covered with golden-yellow feathers, and the feathers on their abdomen are slightly lighter than those on their back. The primary wing and tail feathers are black. Hens have pale-yellow or yellow plumage over their entire bodies. Their skin is yellow. Their shanks are relatively short, featherless, and yellow, though a few may be slate-gray.
