Tianxin District is named after the ancient Tianxin Pavilion. Located in the southeastern corner of Changsha's city center, Tianxin Pavilion Scenic Area has been praised since ancient times as "Xiaoxiang Ancient Pavilion, A Famous City During the Qin and Han Dynasties." It is the most representative cultural tourism landmark of the 3,000-year-old ancient city of Changsha and an iconic historical building of the city. It is currently a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a famous Chinese historical and cultural building, and a patriotic education base.

The scenic area features protected cultural relics and buildings such as ancient city walls, the ancient Tianxin Pavilion, and the Chonglie Series of Anti-Japanese War Memorial Buildings. Among them, the ancient pavilion showcases the architectural style of Ming and Qing garden design. Historically, it served as a site for observing astronomical phenomena, offering sacrifices to deities, and military defense. It was also a gathering place for modern revolutionary patriots and now serves as a contemporary commemorative site. Furthermore, situated at the highest point in Changsha, Tianxin Pavilion offers a panoramic view from its heights, encompassing "mountains, waters, isle, and city" in a glance.
