Chenzhou Cuijiang River Waterway Tourist Route

The Ministry of Transport recently announced 19 typical cases of premium national waterway tourist routes for 2025, covering four categories: urban landscapes, natural landscapes, characteristic culture, and coastal sightseeing. The Cuijiang River premium waterway tourist route in Chenzhou City made the list and is the only one from Hunan Province.

The Cuijiang River premium waterway tourist route is based on the Feitian Mountain National Geopark, creating a 15-kilometer, 2-hour landscape gallery of "clear waters and Danxian landform." The route starts from the Cuijiang Wharf and ends at the Wayaoping Ancient Ferry, calling at stops such as the Damianzhou Wharf. Along the route there are six wharves and eight scenic spots, connecting three administrative villages and more than 20 villager groups.

The route comprehensively integrates the natural wonders of the Danxia landform with the cultural remains of the Song Dynasty kiln capital, blending thousand-year-old wharves, famous temples in southern Hunan, and local folk customs. Through coordinated development of waterfront and land areas and interconnected land routes, it organically combines transportation construction, the creation of premium routes, and the development of cultural tourism resources. The route has become an exquisite route that combines natural endowments, cultural scenery, and local characteristics.
