Lincolnshire is located in the East Midlands region of England, UK, with the town of Lincoln as its largest city in terms of population. Lincolnshire's pillar industries include: agriculture and food — one of the UK's most important agricultural regions, supporting many world-class trading businesses; manufacturing and engineering; marine fisheries, home to the UK's largest port by tonnage; and renewable energy.
Lincolnshire is rich in natural and cultural heritage. It is the hometown of the famous scientist Isaac Newton and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, as well as the home of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (the Red Arrows).
In October 2018, Hunan and Lincolnshire officially established a friendship province-county relationship, marking Hunan's first-ever province-level friendship relationship with the UK. The two sides previously signed a letter of intent and a memorandum of understanding for the friendship relationship to solidify the foundation for cooperation, with frequent high-level visits. A Hunan delegation visited the UK, and a delegation from Lincolnshire came to Hunan for exchanges, jointly agreeing to formulate a five-year friendly exchange and cooperation plan. Leveraging the friendship province-county platform, both sides have focused on agricultural technology, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, and other fields to facilitate economic and trade project matchmaking, while also actively promoting exchanges in the humanities, sciences, and education, including basic education, higher education, vocational education, culture, tourism, and museums.
The Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, acquired Dynex Semiconductor, a long-established British company located in Lincolnshire, and established an overseas R&D center for power semiconductors at Dynex. This is the first overseas R&D center of a Chinese rail transit equipment manufacturing enterprise.
