The new route will operate every Monday and Friday. Outbound flight CZ8095 will fly from Guangzhou to Changsha, departing Changsha at 13:50 Beijing time, and arrive in Addis Ababa at 20:00 local time. Return flight CZ8096 will set off from Addis Ababa at 23:00 local time, arrive in Changsha at 15:10 Beijing time the next day for a stopover, then depart at 17:10 and reach Guangzhou at 18:45.
The route has strong transfer connectivity. From Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, passengers can reach 11 major African cities within 7 hours—about 2 hours for connections to Harare, Zimbabwe; Lusaka, Zambia; Cairo, Egypt; and Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo; about 3 hours to connect to Entebbe, Uganda; Kigali, Rwanda; and Johannesburg, South Africa; and, 4 to 6 hours to transfer to Zanzibar, Tanzania; Lagos, Nigeria; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; and Accra, Ghana.
For domestic connections, inbound passengers arriving in Changsha can take same-day connecting flights to 22 major cities nationwide, including Beijing, Urumqi, Sanya, Shanghai, Xi'an, and Harbin. This forms an air transport network with Changsha as its hub, linking east and west and radiating north and south.
Leveraging its role as the permanent host of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and a pioneering zone for in-depth China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, Hunan has made steady progress in its trade, industrial collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges with Africa. The new route, together with the existing Changsha–Nairobi service, will strengthen the Hunan-Africa air corridor, helping Changsha serve as a "bridgehead" in China-Africa cooperation and greatly facilitating personnel exchanges between the two sides.
