A press conference on the 2026 Changsha Marathon was held in Changsha on October 16.

The race is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 a.m. on November 15 (Sunday). All 35,000 race slots are exclusively allocated to the full marathon (18,000 runners, 42.195 km) and the half marathon (17,000 runners, 21.0975 km). Runners will take off beside the Du Fu Pavilion on Xiangjiang Middle Road. Full marathon runners will cross the finish line at the South Square of Changsha Helong Sports Center, while half marathon participants will wrap up their journey at Fisherman's Wharf. This ensures the course is dedicated to truly passionate runners who are eager to compete.

Registration for this year's race opened at 10:00 a.m. on August 4 and closed at 5:00 p.m. on August 11, drawing a record-breaking 192,052 applicants. Of the total, 75,912 registered for the full marathon and 116,140 for the half marathon, both setting new records. The results of the first-round lottery and the second-round waitlist draw have been released. The organizing committee will conduct a third-round lottery based on actual circumstances, with specific arrangements subject to official announcements.
