2026 Hunan International Friendship City Economic and Trade Event and Cooperation Dialogue

According to the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the 2026 Hunan International Friendship Cities Economic and Trade Event and Cooperation Dialogue will take place from September 18 to 20. Representatives from friendship cities, institutions, and embassies and consulates of multiple countries, including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and Laos, will gather in Changsha to renew friendship ties and jointly explore economic and trade cooperation.

International friendship cities serve as important vehicles for advancing China's overall diplomacy and local economic and social development, playing an active role in promoting exchanges between Chinese and foreign local governments and advancing resource sharing and win-win cooperation.

To date, Hunan has established 120 pairs of international friendship cities. Themed "Friendship Cities Empower the New Economy, Charting the Future of Business Cooperation," the 2026 Hunan International Friendship Cities Economic and Trade Event and Cooperation Dialogue will host a series of activities, including the Economic and Trade Cooperation Dialogue, the Thematic Industry Matchmaking Session, and the "Hunan Enterprises Going Global" Investment Cooperation Matchmaking Session. It will also feature an exhibition on international friendship city exchange and cooperation achievements, and a showcase of premium products from Hunan's international friendship cities.

The event aims to further consolidate cooperation outcomes between Hunan and its international friendship cities and economic and trade partners, and to advance practical cooperation in economy, trade and innovation.
