The 166 projects, with a total investment exceeding 100 billion CNY, span sectors such as advanced steel materials, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, rail transit, aerospace, new materials, and energy equipment. The three cities each have their own focus. Changsha focuses on sci-tech innovation and R&D, artificial intelligence, equipment manufacturing, healthcare, the digital economy, electronic equipment, and audio-visual industry, while also launching land transfer projects in southern urban integration area. Zhuzhou continues to unlock investment opportunities by leveraging its competitive industrial chains in advanced rail transit equipment, aerospace equipment and the low-altitude economy, advanced ceramics and new functional glass, smart steel and modern logistics, and advanced hard materials. Xiangtan gathers competitive industrial resources around motors, electronic control, electric transmission and high-end equipment manufacturing, electronic information and intelligent terminals, and industry-city integration.
Li Wenjun, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Center for Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Integrated Development Affairs, noted that Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan have leveraged integrated development to gather factors, strengthen innovation, and expand application scenarios, and have continuously built high-level industrial platforms, with integration having entered a stage of mature advancement. Joint investment promotion is driven not only by policy but also by real demand. With China's 16th National Games to be held in Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan in 2029, 1,061 urban renewal projects involving an investment of 108.4 billion CNY have already been launched. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), 255 major provincial projects have been deployed under the integration framework, all of which have been included in the commencement plan with clear timelines. These projects will continue to provide application scenarios for industries such as advanced steel materials, rail transit equipment, new materials, and energy equipment.
