Hunan is a global core area for fireworks production, with its fireworks industrial scale and exports ranking among the top in China. Building on its industrial foundation, Hunan has developed a "Hunan practice-national standards-international standards" transformation pathway. The Fireworks and Firecrackers Inspection Center of Hunan Province, in cooperation with the Changsha Customs Technical Center, has integrated laboratory comparison data, safety supervision experience, and enterprise production practices to develop a series of international standards, including the "Firework Displays — General Guidance," "Guidance for the Use of Proximity Pyrotechnic Articles," "Fireworks — Test Methods for Determination of Specific Chemical Substances," and "Ignition Devices for Fireworks," filling multiple international gaps in fireworks display and inspection and testing technologies.
"Unified international standards effectively remove trade barriers caused by differences in national regulations, helping export enterprises reduce repeated testing and lower compliance costs," said the person in charge of the Fireworks and Firecrackers Inspection Center of Hunan Province. Hunan has established a team of standardization experts composed of technical backbone personnel in testing, pyrotechnic compositions, safety engineering, and firework display, all familiar with international rules. They have long participated in drafting international standards, technical consultations and clarifications, continuously providing solid standards support for Hunan's fireworks industry to expand globally.
