These 40 visitors with disabilities came from Guangdong, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Shaanxi, and Taiwan. To ensure their smooth visit, the scenic area opened a green channel, providing priority and convenient services throughout the whole journey—from ticket checking to rides on the eco-friendly shuttle bus and the Tianzi Mountain cableway.
Inside the scenic area, volunteers in red vests assisted during the entire trip, helping the wheelchair users get on and off vehicles and transfer to the cableway. Staff members escorted each wheelchair user to get onto the cable car. On the sightseeing bus, the wheelchair users spontaneously sang "My Motherland and I" together, with the melody echoing amid the peak forests.
"A Decade of Dreams Fulfilled in Zhangjiajie: Love Without Barriers Warms Hearts," said Xiang Yongsheng, head of the Zhangjiajie Association for Persons with Disabilities and the Zhangjiajie Station of the Song of Life charity website. He noted that accessible travel gives people with disabilities the chance to step out of their homes and experience Zhangjiajie's natural beauty up close.
Over the past decade, the volunteer team led by Xiang Yongsheng has provided assistance for 5,676 people with disabilities from home and abroad in Zhangjiajie, including more than 2,000 wheelchair users.
