After the renovation is completed, the station will be expanded from three platforms and 13 tracks to six platforms and 18 tracks. It will serve as a comprehensive transportation hub connecting the Hunan-Guangxi Railway, Yiyang-Zhanjiang Railway, Hengyang-Liuzhou Railway, Shaoyang-Yongzhou High-speed Railway, and Guangzhou-Qingyuan-Yongzhou High-speed Railway, breaking through the high-speed rail bottleneck for southern Hunan's connection with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
