On September 27, the Men's Super Final of Trampoline Gymnastics at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 took place at the Nagoya City General Gymnasium. The Hangzhou Asian Games champion, 27-year-old Zhuzhou-born Yan Langyu, defended his title with a score of 65.09 in the super final, while his teammate Wang Zisai took the silver with 63.83 points. The Chinese team bagged the gold and silver medals in this event, which was also the 7th gold medal for Hunan athletes at the Asian Games.

The men's individual trampoline event consisted of three rounds: qualification, final, and super final. In the super final, four athletes vied for the championship by performing one routine, with their on-site choices and performance directly determining the final medal standings. That day, Yan Langyu's form steadily improved—in both the qualification and final rounds, he performed routines with a difficulty score of 17.5, scoring 59.88 and 61.25 points, respectively. By avoiding unnecessary risks and prioritizing consistency, he successfully advanced to the highly competitive super final.

At the decisive moment, Yan Langyu boldly raised the difficulty score of his routine to 21.5. From flight and somersault to descent, he executed the entire routine with ample height and precise form, nearly flawless in execution. His high score of 65.09 points secured him the championship.

Stepping off the competition area and reflecting on their sweep of the gold and silver medals, Yan Langyu immediately gave credit to his teammate Wang Zisai. "I think this gold medal means even more to the team. In the super final, I performed after Wang Zisai. For the sake of the team, he voluntarily lowered the difficulty of his routine to secure a solid score and a medal first. After that, I delivered my normal performance, and together we kept hold of the gold and silver medals," Yan Langyu said.
