On August 29, a training program for ambassadors and counselors organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) visited Hunan for an inspection tour. Vice Governor Liu Yang attended a symposium on Hunan's development and briefed the participants on the provincial profile.
Vice Governor Liu welcomed the ambassadors and counselors. He said that in recent years, Hunan has thoroughly implemented the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan's work, and continuously strived to build itself into a pacesetter for reform and the opening up of inland regions, showcasing new momentum in opening up. Over the past years, MFA has provided solid support for Hunan's products and enterprises to "go global" in great strides and for overseas resources to be efficiently "brought in." He expressed the hope that the ambassadors and counselors will serve as "publicists" and "liaisons" for Hunan's opening up, actively recommending high-quality overseas resources, cutting-edge technologies, and cooperation projects to Hunan, promoting more Hunan-branded technologies, products, and brands to go global, and facilitating more two-way and mutually beneficial collaboration outcomes.
All members of the training program thanked Hunan authority for the meticulous arrangements made for their inspection tour. The ambassadors and counselors stated that they will fulfill their duties and make good use of diplomatic resources, fully playing the role of embassies and consulates abroad, to proactively promote Hunan to foreign countries in a targeted manner. They hoped to contribute to Hunan's efforts to expand high-level opening up and deepen international exchanges and partnerships.
The inspection tour will last for five days. During their stay in Hunan, members of the training program will go to Changsha, Shaoshan, Zhuzhou, and other places to visit revolutionary heritage sites. They will learn about Hunan's achievements and experience made in building itself into an advanced manufacturing hub, a sci-tech and innovation center, and a pacesetter for reform and the opening up of inland regions. They will also visit enterprises that have achieved remarkable results in high-quality development and have a need to "go global," and hold discussions with relevant departments and enterprises.
