Through this dedicated event, Hunan's high-quality indica rice was introduced to the Hong Kong and Macao markets for brand promotion, tasting sessions, and supply-demand matchmaking. For the first time, Hunan rice entered Hong Kong as a branded, standardized product on a large scale. At the event, government and business representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on grain and oil collaboration and market channel development, building a bridge for cross-industry cooperation between Hunan and Hong Kong.
At the reception, Jinwei Aromatic Rice was officially launched as a premium variety certified under the provincial "Dongting Aromatic Rice" brand for the Hong Kong market. The tasting session gave a vivid showcase of Hunan's premium indica rice, earning high praise from Hong Kong rice industry representatives.
This year, Hong Kong has been advancing its "three-step" strategy for helping mainland enterprises go global—attracting competitive companies to set up in Hong Kong, helping them grow locally, and using Hong Kong as a springboard to international markets. Hong Kong is willing to assist Hunan enterprises in expanding overseas and to channel more premium Chinese products to the world.
Xia Wenbin, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Food and Strategic Reserves Department of Hunan Province, said that as a major grain-producing region in China, Hunan will leverage its production advantages to build on the progress of Hunan-Hong Kong cooperation, safeguarding grain supplies for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and raising the global profile and reputation of Hunan's grain and oil products.
