The 16th China International Digital Publishing Expo, co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication and the Publishers Association of China, is being held in Jinan, Shandong from August 27 to 29. Themed "Digital Innovation for an Intelligent Future," the expo highlights emerging trends, technologies, and business models in digital publishing. Hunan delegation showcases its cutting-edge digital publishing achievements, demonstrating Hunan's evolution from a publishing powerhouse in size to one in strength from the perspectives through cultural depth, technological edge, and global outreach.

The Hunan booth is located at D07 on the first floor of the Jinan Shungeng International Convention and Exhibition Center. It features three main sections: digital and intelligent transformation in publishing, the "New Three" digital cultural sectors, and the global promotion of Huxiang culture. In the digital-intelligent transformation area, three large models take the center stage—Huxiang Culture, Hunan-Hongxin, and Non-ferrous Metals. The Huxiang Cultural model is based on a 702-volume, 400-million-character Huxiang Library (AI Version); the Hongxin model targets media convergence and social governance applications; and, the non-ferrous metals model is built on a non-ferrous metals knowledge base. Together, they strengthen Hunan's digital ecosystem across cultural heritage, media integration, and industry services.

The exhibition area for the "New Three" digital cultural sectors showcases a number of innovations such as the "Super Cartoonist" AI comic creation platform, the AICO digital knowledge service platform, and the AI comic drama "Legacy of Grace: A City on the Sea." The Manghaowan mini-game platform leverages Mango IP to create a unique "watch-and-play" film-game synergy. In the global promotion of Huxiang culture area, the overseas copyright outcomes of Cai Gao's picture books, the "New Chinese Language Online" teaching platform, and the Malanshan Cultural Industry Overseas Alliance are showcased, demonstrating the growing global presence of Huxiang culture.

The 16th Digital Publishing Expo has drawn over 500 exhibitors, including delegations from 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China, as well as overseas participants from more than 30 countries and regions. The expo features seven specialized exhibition zones, with a first-ever zone dedicated to traditional Chinese culture and online games which aims to highlight the empowerment of classic cultural heritage for the high-quality development of the gaming industry. The event also includes one main forum, six specialized forums, and over 80 side events, concentrating on digital publishing, human-AI collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and global scholarly communication.
