On August 24, the Exhibition Hall of the Project for the Protection of Language Resources of China officially opened in Changsha City, Hunan Province. This marked a leap in the protection of Chinese language resources from a "database" to a "living display."
The exhibition hall is located on the first floor of the main exhibition building of the Hunan Museum. Leveraging the landmark achievements of the "Project for the Protection of Language Resources of China" under the Ministry of Education and the National Language Commission, it brings together a massive corpus of over 1,800 points of Chinese dialects, minority languages, and cultural expressions from across China. With digital exhibition as the primary means, it selects more than 30 language and script-related cultural relics from collections of cultural institutions and museums across China. The exhibition has been built into a new immersive, integrated, and experiential language and culture exhibition space.
