Governor Mao Visits Changsha School to Celebrate International Children's Day

On the occasion of the 76th International Children's Day, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, visited Yali-Peicui School in Changsha on the afternoon of May 29. He extended greetings to teachers and students of the school, and on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, he conveyed festive wishes to all children across the province and expressed sincere regards to teachers and education professionals.

At the southern campus of Yali-Peicui School, Governor Mao listened to an introduction about the school's operations, and observed teaching activities such as reading activities and physical training. He also greeted the students cordially during inter-class breaks. He emphasized that teachers should adhere to the principle of "holistic development," focusing on integrating moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education, while guiding students to love the Party, the motherland, and the people, to nurture more well-rounded, first-class innovators for the nation. He also encouraged students to maintain a thirst for knowledge and an interest in exploration, diligently acquiring knowledge and skills, building strong physiques, and enjoying learning, living, and growing happily. Governor Mao also visited the school canteen to inspect the "transparent kitchen," stressing that campus food safety is a matter of utmost importance. He urged strict implementation of the "four strictest requirements" for food safety and further strengthening of oversight across the entire supply chain to ensure safe and reassuring meals for teachers and students.

President Xi Jinping places great importance on and holds high expectations for the healthy growth of children, Governor Mao noted during his visit. He called on the departments at all levels across the province to consistently prioritize education development, continuously increasing investment in education, ensuring respect and benefits for teachers, and steadily enhancing the quality and level of public education services, to develop a high-quality educational system that meets the people's expectations. He urged education workers to bear in mind and fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue and educating people, as well as the original mission of educating people for the Party and nation, continuously improving their teaching abilities, and caring for every student with love and patience while serving as guides for children's physical and mental well-being. He encouraged all children across the province to study and comprehend President Xi Jinping's earnest instructions, embracing lofty ideals, cultivating strong moral character, persisting in diligent learning and thoughtful thinking, and maintaining physical and mental health, to strive to grow into exemplary children in the new era who love the Party and the nation, are hardworking and eager to learn, and achieve all-round development.
