On May 29, the "Jiaoping No. 1," an ultra-large-diameter tunnel boring machine jointly developed by China Railway 11th Bureau Group Corporation Limited and CRCHI, was officially rolled off the production line in Changsha. It will be used for the construction of the Mangshan Tunnel on the Jiaozuo–Pingdingshan Railway. The "Jiaoping No. 1" has a total length of approximately 110 meters, weighs about 3,500 tonnes, and has an installed power of 10,000 kilowatts. It is capable of integrated continuous operations encompassing "cutting, mucking, lining, and grouting."

The Jiaozuo-Pingdingshan Railway is a key component of the Hohhot-Nanning Corridor, one of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway networks. The Mangshan Tunnel is a critical control project for the entire Jiaozuo-Pingdingshan Railway. With a shield tunneling section length of 4,970 meters and an excavation diameter of 14.57 meters, the shield tunneling machine features a single-bore, double-track design.
