Santang Town -- A Town of Allium Chinense

Santang Town, with a long history of allium chinense cultivation, is renowned as a "Town of Allium Chinense." In 2005, Santang allium chinense was certified as a National Geographical Indication Product. Now in the peak harvest season, the town's over 5,000-mu (about 333-hectare) planting base is bustling with harvest activity. The photo, taken on June 15, shows cooperative staff displaying their newly-harvested allium chinense at an ecological rice-allium chinense rotation plantation in Jinlun Village, Santang Town, Xiangyin County.
