Xiangtan Lotus Seed Included in 2025 China's Renowned Consumer Brands

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the list of China's renowned consumer brands in 2025. The Xiang lotus seed of Xiangtan City made the list as a regional brand.

This selection focused on light industry, textiles, food, pharmaceuticals and other consumer goods sectors. It evaluates brands across three dimensions of historical classics, contemporary excellence, and emerging trends. The evaluation identified corporate and regional brands that demonstrate strong market competitiveness, a high level of product innovation, significant brand recognition and reputation, and rich historical and cultural value.

The Xiang lotus seed of Xiangtan City boasts distinct industrial characteristics, prominent regional identity, and strong recognition within the industry. With a long history of lotus cultivation, Xiangtan's "Cun San Lian" lotus seed enjoys nationwide acclaim, earning the reputation of "while Hunan's Xiang lotus seeds are nationally renowned, those from Xiangtan City are considered the top-rated within the province." Currently, the comprehensive annual output value of the entire Xiang lotus seed industry chain exceeds 10 billion CNY, with over 100,000 people employed in related sectors. Huashi Town in Xiangtan County, as the nation's largest Xiang lotus seed production base and trade distribution center, hosts 16 industrial enterprises above designated size and 11 leading agricultural industrialization enterprises. The town also encompasses 122 companies involved in cultivation, processing, and trade, processing nearly 100,000 tonnes of Xiang lotus seed annually. The products are sold both domestically and internationally.

Xiangtan City is vigorously advancing the construction of a modern Xiang lotus seed industrial park that integrates processing, warehousing, trade, logistics, e-commerce, and R&D, further driving industrial upgrading and high-quality development.
